FATHER’S DAY

Grand Opening

We often ask ourselves, “How long should I meet with someone to share the gospel?” Is it one conversation? One hour? One visit? While the message of salvation can be shared in just a few minutes—or even less—it’s worth asking whether speed is always the most effective approach.

I’ve been meeting regularly with a man named Rodney, and our conversations often last around 2.5 hours. He brings sincere, thoughtful, and at times difficult questions—especially regarding how we got the Bible and the nature of the Trinity. These continue to be some of his biggest barriers.

By God’s grace, Rodney has embraced many core truths: the reality of our sin nature, and the unique value of humanity created in God’s image. He has faith, but also lingering unbelief—particularly in the authority of Scripture and in the doctrine of the Trinity. While a deep understanding isn’t required for saving faith, these essential truths cannot be rejected. My plan is to continue meeting with Rodney unless, or until, he chooses to walk away from the gospel entirely.
Would you join us in prayer? Ask the Holy Spirit to turn his unbelief into wholehearted, saving faith.

Cidade Colina

We recently held our first communion and business meeting, a meaningful step for our young church plant. Attendance has been lower in recent months, as many of those we’re connected with are either new to faith or still exploring, and the ongoing heavy rains have made travel—especially for those relying on public transportation—more difficult.

Even so, we were especially encouraged this past Sunday as we celebrated Dia do Pai (Father’s Day in Portugal) with a special lunch. We welcomed 25 people—a huge encouragement and a reminder that it is God who works in the hearts of humanity. Not us!

Looking Ahead

O Bazar de Esperança (Bazaar of Hope): A free community event where we’ll give away clothes and household items we’ve collected. We are praying it opens doors for gospel conversations and new relationships.

Pamphlet Distribution & Digital Outreach: We’re launching a city-wide campaign—online and in print—centered on the question, “Am I really important to God?” Respondents will be directed to cidadecolina.pt/importante to schedule a conversation with one of us. Pray that this message reaches open hearts and leads to divine appointments.

English Club VBS: We’re exploring the possibility of hosting a small U.S. team to help lead an English Club-style Vacation Bible School by using language to connect with local kids and families. Interested? Let us know by April 15th!

Prayer

We continue to seek clarity and support for Michelle in an ongoing health matter. If you know of an OBGYN who might be willing to connect with her—even briefly—we would be so thankful for the referral.

We are so grateful to all of our supporters for their generous giving. Thank you.
